Located in the Salento peninsula of Southeast Italy, often described as the heel of Italy's boot, Villa Le Biancate is perched on a cliff overlooking the Adriatic sea.

This incredible property features 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms spread over four separate buildings, making it ideally situated to offer complete relaxation and privacy for all guests.

It also boasts an exceptional infinity pool and a paved poolside area equipped with comfortable sun loungers and plenty of sun filled terraces. Towels, wifi, washing machine and private parking available.

ONE WEEK IN SALENTO

This retreat is a unique opportunity to take a break from the daily demands and stimulations of life, cultivating a space of deep inner peace and stillness. Our daily workshops will be centered around revitalizing your mind, body and soul through a soulful combination of:

Enjoy traditional Apulian (from the region of Puglia) meals prepared with handpicked, farm-fresh ingredients by a local Professional Chef.

Throughout this retreat you can expect the following foodie experiences:

Welcome & Farewell Dinner: a formal 3-course meal held on the first and last nights of the retreat

Cooking Class: learn how to prepare traditional fresh pasta

Apulian Family Lunch: includes a great variety of fish, meat and vegetarian Apulian meals placed at the center of the table for everyone to share

In addition to these four foodie experiences, there will be a light Italian-style breakfast served daily (fresh fruits, croissants, pastries, and coffee). The kitchen will always be stocked with bottled water.

Riposo, commonly known as Italian Siesta, is an integral part of local Southern Italian culture. This is when shops, restaurants and businesses close during the hours of 1-4pm for an extended lunch break.

Observed and cherished, it is personal time taken off during the hottest hours of the day to spend in relaxation or enjoying some quality moments with friends and family.

Thus, we've intentionally weaved riposo, or time for rest, into our itinerary so that you'll have time to read a book, journal, enjoy the pool, sunbathe, nap, go for a walk or enjoy a massage . This will be your dedicated "me time" to spend as you please.

The Salento peninsula in South-Eastern Puglia extends between the Adriatic and the Ionian Seas. It is known for its beautiful Baroque and white-washed cities, crystal clear seas, olive farms, vineyards, fish markets, slow lifestyle and UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Our Villa will be located in Santa Maria di Leuca, the southern-most tip of Salento where the Adriatic and the Ionian Seas meet. We will be a short drive, or 15-minute walk, to Centro Storico di Leuca (the historic center of town) and close to several swimming holes, caves and beach clubs.

There are so many amazing places to visit in Salento, so we've curated an itinerary that includes a few must-do excursions:

Leuca Lighthouse and Basilica Santuario di Santa Maria de Finibus Terrae Tour: This Basilica, named "The End of the Earch" is built at the southernmost tip of the Italian heel, at a place where the Adriatic meets the Ionian sea. (1 hour)

Guided Boat Tour: Boating excursion that offers a tours of all the caves located on Ionian and Adriatic coast of Leuca, and time for swimming in incredible locations. (3 hours)

Lecce Street Food & Sightseeing Tour: Stroll through the Baroque city of Lecce, known as the Florence of the South for its intricate architecture. Learn all about the history of this golden city, while making stops along the way to taste popular street food. (3 hours)

Additional excursions, including day trips to the towns of Otranto, Gallipoli and Castro will be available for booking for an additional fee to be determined based on group size. These day trips will be scheduled on our "free days."

Getting There

TRAVEL INFORMATION

Fly into Rome (FCO)

This is the best airport to fly into before heading down south. We recommend spending a couple nights in Rome before booking your next flight to Salento.

Fly into Brindisi (BDS)

This is the closest airport to our retreat location. We recommend renting a car so you can explore during free time. If not, we will help arrange airport transfer.

Arrive to Le Biancate

Take your time settling in. Rest, shower, nap, whatever you need to do to unwind after a long day of travel. There will be Italian aperitivo waiting for you.

Other Options

Fly into Italy a few days before our retreat. Spend 2 nights in Rome, then rent a car and take a beautiful roadtrip 6 hours down to Salento. You won't regret it.
