Beginners Yoga: 8-Week Series

Come learn the basics of yoga! This is the perfect series for students brand new to yoga.

Details

Classes will be held on Thursdays, 5-5:50pm starting January 9th through February 27th. This 8-week series is designed to teach you the foundations of yoga, meditation and pranayama (breath regulation). Students will be guided through a gentle, beginners-level yoga class followed by a classic "savasana" at the very end of class. Savasana is a typically a period of silence, guided relaxation, meditation or guided breathing techniques that concludes the practice of physical yoga postures. This is a non-competitive and safe space for anyone new to yoga, or continuing students interested in reconnecting with their practice after taking a break. Classes will be instructed by Cherish Gould. Space is limited to a group of 8 students. Please register online to reserve your spot! We recommend committing to the entire series so you can become familiar with classic yoga postures and build strength and flexibility over the course of a few weeks. The instructor will offer hands-on adjustments, modifications and formal breakdowns of how to practice postures as needed. After this 8-week series, you will be prepared to take other classes such as Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga. This series comes with a Beginners Yoga booklet that covers an introduction of yoga philosophy principles, guided meditation techniques and guided breathing techniques so you have a reference for practicing yoga on your own outside of The Studio. *Note: This series is non-refundable. Missed classes will not be refunded or credited to your account. In the event of a cancellation on behalf of The Studio, class will be rescheduled the week following the original end date of the series.
